Community storytelling

Storytelling helps bring together communities, especially when I do it! I have had a variety of community bookings, from summer fairs to library events, from topic-based talks to storytelling ministry.

I have worked with children and families at Sale Library to help them write and illustrate their own short books.

I talked to the lovely ladies of the Trefoil Guild about the history and benefits of Storytelling.

I worked with children on a number of occasions at Sale West’s holiday club “The Munch Club” and also at St. Anne’s CE Primary Holiday Club to make puppets and write plays to show them off!

I have enchanted children twice at Prestwich Clough Day with my stories.

I have twice done nature-based storytelling and crafts at Sale Water Park’s community day.

I transformed Coppice Library into a Narnian winter wonderland, a Magical Harry Potter experience, and a Whizzpopping Roald Dahl-themed space for various community events. I have also led sessions of storytelling and craft for several Saturday Storytimes.

I brought artworks to life with a story-writing workshop where we made our own stories inspired by the work on display at the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.

I travelled round the libraries of Tameside bringing my uniques Story Lady magic to adults and children alike.

I spent a summer bringing book-themed workshops to the children of Haughton Green and Sale West (sometimes up to 50 of them in a session!)

Caritas Care booked me for their Christmas party, we sang Christmas songs, joined in with lovely stories and shared chocolate coins!

If you are having a community event and wish to discuss your storytelling requirements, contact me and I will build an itinerary of stories and crafts to suit.
